Mary A. Spryn, 72, of Butler, went to be with her Lord and Savior on her birthday, Friday, May 1, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born May 1, 1954, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Vivian Vero Pacifico.
Mary was a devout Christian and member of Literal Life Church.
She was a dedicated homemaker, a beloved wife, mother, and Nana.
She was very proud of her Italian heritage and always showed people love through her famous cooking and baking. Her exceptional talent as a seamstress blessed many around her. Her skillful work ranged from a wedding dress to sewing for First Responders to doll clothes to the daily mending needs of her family and friends.
Mary was most happy when spending time with family, and she never turned away an opportunity to play Yahtzee or SkipBo.
In the midst of her family’s sorrow, they are extremely grateful for the five extra years of grace that God granted Mary after she miraculously survived a ruptured brain aneurysm in April of 2021.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of nearly 45 years, John Spryn; four children, Rachel Leitner, of Butler, Hannah Lewallen and her husband, David, of Ohio; Chris Spryn, of Ohio, and Grace Spryn, of Butler; five beautiful granddaughters, Esther, Vivian, Corrie, and Rose Leitner, of Butler, and Ariyah Lewallen, of Ohio; and three siblings, Kathleen Higgins and her husband, Mike, Vince Pacifico, and Amy Cecil and her husband, Kevin.
There will be no visitation or funeral, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to commemorate Mary’s legacy.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home South Side, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
