Mary Lou Dampf, 86, of Butler passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026. She was born in Cannonsburg on April 30, 1940, to the late Charles and Lena Mae (Frye) Klages. Mary Lou was an LPN who worked as a substitute school nurse for South Butler School District.
In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and growing roses. She was a Girl Scout Leader and bowled with the local league. Mary Lou loved the outdoors and attending the family camp in Elk County.
Mary Lou was the beloved wife of the late John Dampf, whom she married on July 27, 1963; mother of Julie (Philip) Nini and Kimberly Long; grandmother of Bryce and Elizabeth Long. She is also lovingly survived by her grand dogs: Bear, Yoshi and Banjo.
Along with her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her sister, Myrtle Barker; brother, Fred Klages; and her in-laws, Margaret (Lombardi) and John Dampf Sr.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5-7 PM at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 NEW CASTLE RD. BUTLER, PA 16001. WWW.SPENCERDGEIBEL.COM. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery.
