The mayor of West Sunbury, who is also a police officer at Slippery Rock University, is facing charges of driving under the influence.
23-year-old Edwin Young Jr. was allegedly involved in a crash on Halston Road around 11 p.m. on May 18th.
According to police, officers found an open beer in Young’s car. Police say he admitted to drinking that night, and registered a .138% BAC.
Slippery Rock University officials issued a statement to our news partners at WPXI saying they are aware of the charges and are fully cooperating with the investigation.
