Michael E. Holko Jr., affectionately known as “Mike” to friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 85, following a life well-lived.
Born on December 9, 1939, in Butler, Mike was the son of the late Michael Holko and Mary Spinder Holko. A proud graduate of Butler High School and Grove City College, he earned a degree in metallurgy and dedicated his career to the steel industry, where he worked in various capacities until his semi-retirement in the mid-1980s.
Throughout his life, Mike had a deep passion for golf. Whether watching the sport on television or playing at local courses, golf brought him great joy, along with the camaraderie of friends and family. These cherished moments will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Mike is survived by his dear sister, Mary Welch; his sons, Michael (and his wife, Heidi), and Christopher; as well as his grandchildren, Keenan, Jocelyn, Calvin, Haley, Autumn, and Jeremiah.
A remembrance ceremony will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, with details to be shared by the family at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.
