Michele M. Donnelly, 79, of Mars, was born on November 24, 1946, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
A passionate adventurer, Michele served in the Peace Corps during the 1970s, sharing her teaching talents in Ethiopia—an experience she spoke of often throughout her life. She was a proud entrepreneur who owned several businesses, including a window washing business and a porcelain doll shop during the years she lived in Provincetown, MA. Michele loved traveling and spent several years enjoying the warm climate of Florida.
Above all, Michele’s deepest love was for her animals. A devoted owner of cats, dogs, and birds, she treated her pets with the greatest care and ensured they accompanied her on every move.
She is survived by her only sister, Millicent E. Whaley of Valencia; her nieces and nephews, Christopher Whaley (Jennifer) of Wisconsin, Meghan Simon of Valencia, Leslie Higgs (Joseph) of Connellsville, Jennifer Thornton (Scott) of Fenelton, and Douglas Whaley (Chayla) of Valencia. She is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as her lifelong friend of over 60 years, Joan Goswell of Valencia.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael J. Donnelly of Pittsburgh; her brother-in-law, Donald G. Whaley of Valencia; and her great-nephew, Nate Bergam of Wisconsin.
