High School Sports from Thursday:
Boys basketball:
–Moniteau clinched a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference playoff spot and handed Clarion their first conference loss of the season following a 59-56 victory.
–Brookville-66 Karns City-41. The loss eliminated the Gremlins from the KSAC playoffs.
–North Hills claimed a Class 6A playoff spot with a 75-54 win over Pine-Richland.
–New Castle completed a one-loss section run with a 65-36 win over North Allegheny. The Red Hurricanes won the Class 6A Section 1 title.
Girls Basketball:
–Pine-Richland defeated Seneca Valley 52-43 to earn a share of the Class 6A Section 1 title. Both teams finished section play 9-1.
–North Allegheny-49 Butler-30.
–Montour edged Mars 46-44.
–Freeport-42 Knoch-22.
–North Catholic-59 Derry-10.
