An elementary school in the Slippery Rock School District is moving to a Flexible Instruction Day after dealing with heating issues.
According to an email from the Moraine Elementary school principal, students were encouraged to dress warmly yesterday due to a boiler issue at the school. However, some parents note that email was sent as some kids were on their way to school.
In an email sent to parents yesterday, Superintendent Dr. Angelo Angelucci described temperatures as “unsatisfactory for an optimal learning environment.” He apologized in the email as well.
Despite Angelucci saying in a follow-up email last night that he was getting encouraging reports about the boiler system, the district opted to make today a flexible instruction day.
