A local state park will be hosting an event later today to educate the public on how to make fire without a match.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m. the park naturalist at Moraine will show visitors the methods of starting a primitive fire.
Both the flint and steel method as well as the bow and drill method will be covered along with the history behind the methods.
This event on the South Shore’s Pleasant Valley Beach will include smores once the fires have been started.
