A few events are going on out at Moraine State Park over the next couple days.
First, an introduction to archery class is being offered on Saturday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Non-Motorized Launch Area on the South Shore. This class is for ages 7 and older with pre-registration required by visiting the DCNR Calendar of Events website.
Also on Saturday a “Full Moon Paddle” will take place from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at the Old Route 422 Launch by the Region 2 Office by the Prospect exit of Route 422. This activity is for ages 12 and older with those under 18 to be accompanied by an adult. Participants can bring their own kayaks. A limited number of kayaks are available. Life jackets are required. Finally, on Sunday a Warbler Walk is planned for 8 a.m. to noon at the Pleasant Valley Launch Area on the South Shore. Park naturalists and local members of the Audubon Society bird chapter will lead a short hike along the Sunken Garden Trail where participants will have the chance to spot as many warblers as possible. Birders of all skill levels are welcome to bring binoculars, water, and snacks with some binoculars available if needed.
