Adams Township Police have released the names of the people involved in an attempted murder-suicide that happened this past weekend.
Police were called to a home on Presidential Lane—which is in a housing development off Three Degree Road for gunshot wounds to 48-year-old Jay Palmer and 48-year-old Holly Palmer.
Before the shooting Saturday afternoon Holly Palmer removed guns from the home because according to official documents, Jay Palmer was making suicidal comments. When Holly Palmer went to shower that afternoon, she noticed Jay Palmer was hiding something.
Once Holly Palmer entered the shower Jay Palmer walked in the bathroom and allegedly fired three to four shots, that’s when the two teenage children at the home broke the door down to help their mother.
During the struggle for the gun with the teenagers, Holly Palmer was able to leave the bathroom and call 911. Also, during the struggle Jay Palmer shot himself in the chest. He was last listed in critical condition, while Holly Palmer was considered in stable condition.
Jay Palmer was charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, misdemeanors, child endangerment, and reckless endangerment.
