Nancy I. (Prenovitz) Gnade

Nancy I. (Prenovitz) Gnade, 83, of Penn Township, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024.
She was born July 23, 1941 in Butler, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Chernick) Prenovitz.
Nancy graduated from Butler High School, received a degree in Education from Slippery Rock University and had taught 5th grade for the Mars School District for 38 years, until her retirement. Her passion and love was her teaching, she was loved by her students and well respected by her colleagues. She loved walking her dogs, enjoyed making jewelry reading, making (pinching) pierogies and spending time at Ocracoke Island on the Outer Banks. In her younger years, she was a member of the Musical Theatre Guild.
She is survived by her brother, Alec (Toni Lee) Prenovitz.
Her sister, Susan Russo.
A number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gnade and her brother Harry Prenovitz.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, at 10:00 am, at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Paisius McGrath, to officiate.
