A new state law will require funeral directors to inform the families of veterans who have passed what benefits are available.
The bill, now law, will require the funeral director to inform the county veterans affairs director of a deceased service person and to provide contact information for the county veterans affairs director.
Families can then contact the director to see what benefits for the deceased servicepersons and their families is available.
The law did not receive a single no vote on its way to the governor’s desk.
