The Butler County Symphony opens their new season with an homage to America this weekend.
The symphony will perform “Ellis Island: The Dream of America” to begin their 77th season.
The show is a part of the symphony’s theme this year celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
New conductor Moon Doh says it’s a multi-faceted performance.
“The Ellis Island performance will use seven different local actors telling a story of immigrants who came to Ellis Island,” Doh said. “This is all to coincide with America 250, which we will celebrate all year.”
There will be a pre-concert talk by local historian Bill May at 7 p.m. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Butler Intermediate High School.
Tickets are available at ButlerSymphony.org or at the gate.
