The City of Butler is obtaining access to new computer software in order to ensure compliance with state reporting requirements.
At their Thursday meeting, Council approved a motion to enter into an agreement with Locality Media for a one year subscription to the First Due Record Management System and Responder platform in the amount of just over $15,000 beginning June 30th.
According to Butler City Fire Chief Chris Switala, this new software replaces the current less-expensive emergency responder software that connects with state reporting systems with an upgrade for increased cybersecurity. Reliable state reporting is required for emergency responders to receive a license from the state Department of Health.
Although some one-time start-up costs will no longer apply after the first year, Switala did say that an inspection module will need to be added in the future which would increase the yearly subscription cost.
