Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust has been suspended three games by the NHL for his hit on a Vancouver Canucks player in Sunday night’s victory. The league said the aggressive hit to the head, and the fact the player is now on Injured Reserve is the basis for the suspension. This the first time Rust has been disciplined in his nearly 700-game NHL career. He has 18 goals and 47 points this season. Rust will be eligible to return February 3rd against the New York Islanders.
The Penguins host the Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow night.
