Although the future of skill games and their legal status were subject to much debate in this year’s budget, no final decision was reached.
The skill games can be found in convenience stores, bars, and even have their own standalone businesses. While lawmakers were looking to potentially tax the games or eliminate the parlors—nothing came to fruition.
Lawmakers from both parties say gaming reform is needed, but could not come to a consensus on their approach.
So for the moment, all skill games will remain in their current place with no additional tax.
