Police and other statewide departments are reminding drivers to be safe during the holiday season.
It’s called “Operation Safe Holiday” and it runs through the new year.
During the next couple of weeks, police urge drivers to wear their seat belts, drive sober, and eliminate distractions behind the wheel.
Last year over the same time span, there were over 850 alcohol-related crashes, that resulted in 18 fatalities and over 500 serious injuries.
With millions expected to drive the Turnpike this holiday weekend, police say to be careful and smart when driving.
