Pennsylvania American Water will be going door-to-door to identify water service lines that need to be replaced.
Surveying for the lead service line replacement program began in May in the City of Butler and Penn and Butler Townships.
PA American Water plans on continuing surveying in 17 municipalities in the county to assist over 5,000 customers. We have the full list of municipalities on ButlerRadio.com.
The surveyors will test service lines that are identified as lead or galvanized steel and replace the line if so with no cost to the customer.
The lead service line identification project has replaced more the 50,000 service lines in the state.
