This summer, state police are urging drivers to put down their phones and keep their eyes on the road—including a new law impacting drivers starting today.
Police will now be enforcing the new Paul Miller Law, which prevents drivers from using their cell phone at all while behind the wheel. If pulled over, you will pay a $50 fine.
Police are also going to be setting up DUI checkpoints starting June 15th and running until after Fourth of July weekend.
These enforcements are to help lower risks of crashes as Pennsylvania faces a busy summer for travel. The Turnpike is predicting over 58 million travelers on its roadways this summer.
