Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was injured after taking a hit in the second period of Team Canada’s Olympic quarterfinal game against Sweden Wednesday morning. He left the game with a leg injury after absorbing two big hits, the latter dished out by Martin Nekas and Radko Gudas. No penalty was given on any of the hits. Crosby was shortly ruled out of the game.
Canada won the Olympic elimination game 4-3 in overtime today. Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs scored the game-winner.
The Penguins return to play Thursday, February 26th when they host New Jersey.
