The Pittsburgh Penguins team plane had to return shortly after taking off from Utah Tuesday after 19-year old forward Ben Kindel suffered a “medical emergency”. The Penguins made a statement that Kindel was attended to by the team physician on the plane until he was able to be taken to the hospital. He was reported as stable at the hospital. Kindel played in Monday night’s loss to Utah. The team was returning home from a four-game road trip. They host Florida tomorrow night.
Several members of the Penguins staff stayed behind with Kindel, while the rest of the team completed their flight back to Pittsburgh.
