A few organizations that assist local residents will receive funding from the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
The Neighborhood Assistance Program will distribute over $185,000 in tax credits to the Penn Theater Performance Company to revitalize a vacant Main Street lot into an accessible space to expand art programming, community gathering, civic engagement, and activity in the Butler Cultural District.
Additionally, nearly $75,000 has been designated for Inspired Hearts and Hands in Cranberry Township to provide nearly 2,000 food distributions for economically disadvantaged households throughout Butler County.
Finally, nearly $33,000 has been designated for use by the Nonprofit Development Corporation to provide no-cost critical repairs to income-constrained older adult homeowners in Butler County’s distressed areas, making homes safer and more accessible.
A total of nearly $72 million in tax credits will be dispersed through this program across the state to help accomplish over 443 projects.
