A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation program for high school students is looking for a new round of applicants.
The Young Ambassadors program aims to build community leaders with a vested interest in keeping Pennsylvania clean.
PennDOT says applicants should be in 10th through 12th grades and have an interest in the environment and volunteerism. Those chosen will be able to train and network with industry leaders, state agencies, and the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful network.
Young Ambassadors members will serve from September of this year through next May with a range of responsibilities during that time such as virtual education sessions, a community assessment with summary presentation, and organizing a community cleanup event with an education activity.
The application period runs through June 10th. Students interested in applying should visit the Keep PA Beautiful website and choose Programs, Education then Young Ambassadors of Pennsylvania or contact Kylie McCutcheon at 724-836-4121 extension 114 or by emailing kmccutcheon@keeppabeautiful.org.
