The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-3 in a shootout last night. The Penguins won an important game despite losing captain Sidney Crosby again to a leg injury during the game. Rookie Ben Kindel scored the game-winner. He and Egor Chinakhov scored in the shoot-out, the second straight shoot-out victory for the Penguins.
The victory last night moved the Pens back into second place in the Metropolitan Division. They are one point in front of both Columbus and the New York Islanders with 10 games remaining. The Blue Jackets lost to Montreal 2-1 last night, while the Islanders defeated Dallas 2-1.
The Pens host Dallas Saturday at 5pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 4:30pm.
The Pens have a tough week ahead next week. They visit the Islanders Monday, then are back home to host Detroit Tuesday to complete the month of March. Thursday, the Pens visit the Tampa Bay Lightning, then have back-to-back games against the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers next Saturday and Sunday.
