The Pittsburgh Pirates lost 6-2 Monday to the New York Yankees in exhibition baseball. Pirates starting pitcher Bubba Chandler was tagged with four earned runs in 1-2/3rds innings, despite not allowing a hit. He walked four and was hurt by an infield throwing error. The Bucs had 10 hits in the game, led by Nick Gonzales who had two hits. Pirate pitchers had 16 strikeouts in the game, but issued 11 walks.
The Pirates visit the Boston Red Sox today.
