The Pirates have a cool, new all black-and-gold look for select games this season that is distinctly Pittsburgh. The team released images of the Nike “City Connect” uniform that will debut April 17 against the Tampa Bay Rays and be worn for every Friday home game for the rest of the season. The jersey includes a font design that mirrors the design of the “sister bridges,” including the Roberto Clemente Bridge. There are two New Era hat combinations — a primary gold hat with a black brim, and a secondary design that is black with a gold brim.
