The Pitt Panthers defeated Syracuse 27-13 last night at Acrisure Stadium. After opening the season with an ACC record seven touchdown passes, Pitt quarterback Mason Heintschel has been held without a touchdown pass in the last two games. But, the Panthers rushed for 205 of their 347 total yards last night against Syracuse, led by Damon Ferguson, Jr. who carried the ball 10 times for 102 yards and a touchdown. La’Vell Wright rushed 14 times for 81 yards and a score. Heintschel carried the ball 11 times for 41 yards and a score. He was 10-of-23 for 123 through the air, and threw an interception for the first time this year. The Panthers defense was solid–and picked off two passes in the second half.
