A Lyndora man is in the Butler County Prison after being accused of offering a 10-year-old child money for a sexual act in Butler Township.
The incident occurred on Thursday when police were called to the 200 block of Penn Avenue for 55-year-old Bernard Godfrey who kept falling on the sidewalk.
According to charging documents, as officers were speaking with Godfrey, a 10-year-old child came down the street accusing Godfrey of offering money to the boy for oral sex.
When asked if Godfrey made the offer to the child, it’s alleged Godfrey said “I might have.”
He was charged with indecent assault of a person less than 16, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault of a person less than 13, corruption of minors, and public drunkenness.
His bail set at $350,000 and a preliminary hearing has been set for July 30.
