State Police have released more information on accident that sent one person to a Pittsburgh trauma center earlier this week.
Wednesday night around 10 p.m. at the intersection of New Castle Road and Hansen Avenue 54-year-old Donald Quinn of Martinsburg, West Virginia was hit riding an electric bike.
According to official documents the roadway was wet and it was actively raining when 36-year-old Phillip Treadway of Butler hit Quinn from behind traveling west on New Castle Road. The electric bike Quinn was driving did not have rear or front lights.
After the collision Quinn was launched from the bike and was transported to UPMC Presby after a life flight could not be called due to weather conditions. Treadway was not held at fault for the accident.
No word on Quinn’s injuries.
