The Public Utility Commission will be holding hearings on potential rate hikes after voting to suspend changes earlier this month.
The PUC voted unanimously to suspended and investigate proposed rate hikes for Pennsylvania American Water.
An estimated 682,000 customers would have seen increases in their bill.
Public hearings will now be held to determine if the increases may happen at a later date.
The nearest meeting to Butler County will happen on January 13 in Washington County at the Crossroads Center. Meetings will happen at 1 and 6 p.m.
There will also be two phone meetings on January 21. They will be happening at 1 and 6 p.m. and pre-registration is encouraged.

To participate in a telephonic public input hearing, please complete the following:
- You must dial the toll-free Conference number above.
- You must enter the PIN number above when instructed.

NOTE: Individuals wishing to testify at a telephonic public input hearing are encouraged to pre-register by 4 p.m. on January 19, 2026. Failure to pre-register could result in you not being called to testify by the PUC Judges.
