The Texas Rangers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-1 last night at PNC Park. Two Pirate pitchers had balks called, which allowed runners to score from third during the game, including one called on starter Rich Hill in the first inning. Hill went 5-1/3rd innings, allowing five runs and seven hits. He walked two and struck out nine. The Rangers scored twice in the first inning and three times in the sixth inning to break the game open.
Nathan Eovaldi tossed a complete game for Texas.
The Bucs and Rangers complete their three-game series this afternoon. First pitch is 12:35pm. WISR will join the game following the Noon News. Johan Oviedo will start for the Pirates.
