A local lawmaker is trying to advance a bill that he believes would support companies that plan, organize, and host large events.
Republican State Representative Aaron Bernstine is co-sponsor of a bill to allow event venues to operate at 50% capacity.
Currently these businesses are required to follow directives from Governor Tom Wolf and the state Department of Health that limit indoor gatherings to a maximum of 25 people.
This bill would provide help for venues as well as other businesses that depend on large gatherings such as caterers and event planners while still mandating social distancing standards advised by the CDC.
