Congressman Mike Kelly is proposing a bill that would eliminate the tax on Olympic medalist earnings.
Kelly and other Republicans have introduced the TEAM USA Act, which would eliminate taxes earned for winning a medal at the Olympics.
Kelly said in a statement that winning Olympians “should not be punished with a burdensome tax bill.”
The bill would be retroactive to the beginning of the year to benefit this year’s Winter Olympic winners.
