Congressman Mike Kelly talked with our newsroom about the ongoing war with Iran.
Kelly was on WISR yesterday, where he said the Iranians are not reliable negotiators.
“We have watched Iran be a bad actor for years,” Kelly said. “I think this was expected to be much shorter [war] than it is. I think that trying to come up with a plan that would be lasting is impossible, because you’re dealing with an altogether different set of principles, values, and people you can’t trust.”
Kelly also believes that other countries could also be helping because of the threat of Iran.
“I don’t see the backing that I think we should,” Kelly said.
However, Kelly also said this has been a long-standing problem.
“This didn’t happen just 47 years ago, this has been an ongoing battle. There is no sense of fair play, as we can’t sit down and talk about things that are good for you, good for us.”
