A United States Senator from Pennsylvania is advancing a bill that would improve home health care in rural areas.
In his role as Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, Democrat Bob Casey held a hearing last week in Washington D.C. titled “There’s No Place Like Home: Home Health Care in Rural America.”
During the hearing, Casey discussed his Home and Community-Based Services Infrastructure Improvement Act which would increase Medicaid funding to allow for states to invest in support for older adults and people with disabilities in rural areas.
According to Casey, Pennsylvania currently has over 13,000 older adults and people with disabilities waiting for home health care and support services.
