A new scam is circulating involving a website which has a primary purpose of helping report scams.
The scam centers around the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, known as IC3. Scammers are spoofing the agency’s website by trying to trick consumers into turning over their financial information.
The website is a main hub for people to report cyber-crimes and elder fraud.
Officials recommend typing the website address—ic3.gov—directly into your browser.
