Taxes will be going up in the Seneca Valley School District.
The school board voted to raise taxes by just over 5 mills, or 3.5 percent.
The final budget was just shy of $187 million, which is up nearly 4 percent compared to last year. District officials say the jump is due to wages and healthcare costs.
District officials also cited the flatline funding from the state as another reason for the tax increase.
The district is also undertaking a major construction project at the high school that’s expected to cost well over $100 million.
