Governor Josh Shapiro has once again joined a lawsuit against the Trump Administration, this time over the removal of an exhibit at a national park in Philadelphia.
The amicus brief in support of the city of Philadelphia says that Shapiro also opposes federal officials removing the exhibit from the President’s House Site at Independence National Historical Park which detailed the lives of some of the people enslaved by George Washington.
The Trump administration U.S. Department of the Interior’s decision bypassed input from local government in an effort to erase parts of American history that might be painful.
This exhibit has been displayed for more than two decades as part of the site’s purpose to tell the full history of the nation’s founding.
