Governor Josh Shapiro has once again joined a lawsuit against the Trump Administration over an attempt to restrict federal funding for reproductive health care.
The lawsuit including officials from 22 other states challenges new terms and conditions announced by the Trump Administration last month concerning Title X grants for the 2027-2032 grant cycle.
The conditions require applicants and grantees to demonstrate “alignment” and “ongoing compliance” with the Trump Administration’s political priorities. The new conditions also include requirements to end or rebuild programs that encourage health equity.
For over 50 years, Title X has been the only federal funding stream dedicated to providing low-income, uninsured, or underinsured individuals with access to critical and comprehensive family planning services, including lifesaving cervical cancer testing.
