The Sheetz family is making a donation to Slippery Rock University that will establish a new mentorship program and nursing lab.
Charlie Sheetz is a 1974 graduate of SRU and the new mentorship program will be in his name. It will look to pair students with alumni mentors to help with the transition to the workforce.
Meanwhile, a new nursing lab will be named in honor of Charlie’s wife Gail. The lab will have 10 stations of hospital-grade equipment that includes patient beds, functional headwalls, medication carts, and vital sign monitors.
These additional investments into the university are in addition to the Charles Sheetz Scholarship created in 1998.
