The Pirates will send reliever Yohan Ramirez to the mound to start the game tonight. Originally, Paul Skenes would have been in line for a start, but that has been pushed back to Friday.
For the remainder of the Reds series, the Bucs will send Skenes, Braxton Ashcraft and Mitch Keller to the mound against the Reds.
After their stay in Cincinnati, the Pirates head to Milwaukee for four games. The scheduled rotation against the Brewers will match up with Bubba Chandler, Jared Jones, Paul Skenes and Braxton Ashcraft.
The Pirates made several moves prior to Wednesday’s game:
–They sent Tyler Callahan back to Triple-A Indianapolis and brought up outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia, or “The Password”, who started last night’s game in centerfield. He was hitless in three at-bats, but was batting .362 with six doubles and 11 RBI’s in his last 20 games at Indy.
–The Pirates also called up pitchers Hunter Barco and Noah Murdock. Barco has pitched five games in relief for the Pirates this season. Murdock had a 2.89 ERA over 15 games at Triple-A. Reliever Evan Sisk appears to be close to returning from the Injured List.
