An investigation is underway after Slippery Rock University officials say they received a bomb threat this morning.
Campus officials believe this is a swatting attempt, meaning it is a suspected fake threat. However, University Police are assessing the situation and have informed federal officials.
Police are currently conducting a thorough search of all campus buildings and grounds.
Officials say they will let students, faculty, and staff know when the university has completed its safety protocol.
They also say any student that doesn’t feel safe about going to class should contact their professor.
According to an online post, the following buildings have been cleared. This list will be updated on the University website until the sweep is completed and the all-clear message is delivered.
