College Football Saturday:
–#4-ranked Slippery Rock will host Shepherd for their home opener at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. It is a “White-Out Night”. Kick-off is 6pm. Hear the game on The Rock Station 97.7fm beginning with the Coach Shawn Lutz Show at 5:30pm.
The Rock has won 35 night games in a row, 27 straight at home. It is also “Villagefest” weekend in Slippery Rock. The team is 18-0 when they have games during that annual event.
–Another big local game Saturday afternoon – as Grove City is hosting #2-ranked (in Division III) Mount Union at 1pm. That game will be televised on KDKA-Plus.
–Pitt travels to West Virginia for the “Backyard Brawl”. Kick-off is Morgantown is 3:30pm. The Panthers are favored by 7-1/2.
–Penn State will host Villanova for a 3:30pm kick-off.
