Slippery Rock University is receiving its largest donation in school history.
Elliot and Rhonda Haverlack announced a $5 million gift to SRU.
With the donation, the school is renaming their College of Business after the Haverlack family.
“We never imagined we’d have this opportunity,” Rhonda Haverlack said in a statement. “Slippery Rock will always be home for Elliott, and it’s become a special place for both of us. Our hope is that every student who walks through these doors knows that the opportunities available to them are limitless.”
Elliot Haverlack is a 1980 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a degree in environmental science. He returned to school this year to pursue his MBA. He’ll also serve as commencement speaker for this year’s graduation.
A ceremony will be held next April celebrating the donation.
