The Pennsylvania State Police are currently hiring state troopers and the application period is now open.
Applicants must be at least 20-years-old and have a high school diploma, or GED. There used to be a college credit requirement, but that was eliminated four years ago.
Since that time, over 600 new officers have graduated and joined the state police.
There is also roughly $16 million in this year’s state budget for more cadet classes.
