The state police are launching an effort to help those with disabilities communicate better with troopers.
The Blue Envelope Program is an initiative that helps those with autism or intellectual disabilities be better prepared for interactions with police, including during traffic stops.
The envelopes can contain information on communication preferences, sensory needs, or other considerations.
Cranberry Township Police joined the blue envelope program earlier this year.
