The Pittsburgh Steelers have given running back Jaylen Warren a three-year contract extension. The deal comes prior to the team’s opening game this weekend in New York against the Jets. Warren was an undrafted free agent, who worked his way into a rotational role in the Steelers backfield with Najee Harris.
The deal is worth more than $17 million, with $11 million guaranteed. Warren had signed a one-year, $5.34 million tender as a restricted free agent during the offseason. In three seasons as that rotational back, he rushed for 1,674 yards and six touchdowns and averaged 4.8 yards per attempt. He also caught 127 passes for 894 yards.
