A free lecture later this month will highlight the stories behind a major fight in the Civil War.
Local historian Bill May is presenting “Gettysburg: The Stories the Monuments Tell” which will commemorate the 160th anniversary of the famous Civil War battle.
“I tell the fascinating stories behind the building of those granite and marble monuments at Gettysburg,” said May. “Not the stories of who chiseled it but the story of the people behind it what story did those veterans want told by those monuments.”
The presentation takes place at the Butler Public Library on Wednesday, June 28th and is sold out.
