Scott Timko is the winner of a very tight race in the Republican primary in the 12th Legislative District.
According to unofficial results, Timko earned 51 percent of the vote compared to Ethan Nicholas, who got 47 percent.
Timko is an Air Force veteran and local business owner, who will now advance to the general election to face Brandon Dukes, who was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
But before the November election, there will also be a special election held for the seat in August to replace Stephenie Scialabba, who resigned earlier this year.
