Tri-Union Seafoods has recalled certain canned tuna product brands after reports of a manufacturing defect.
According to the FDA, the recall is due to an issue with the “easy pull” tabs on the can lids. This defect can cause the product to leak or be contaminated with what could be a potentially fatal form of food poisoning.
No illnesses have been reported, consumers should not use the product even if it does not appear to be spoiled.
The brands that have been recalled are the Genova, Van Camp’s, H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s.
